This mixed terrain provides excellent habitat for a wide range of plains game species, making Gauteng a favored destination for hunters seeking both accessibility and variety.

Well-managed private game farms in the province host species such as Impala, Blesbok, Kudu, Blue Wildebeest, and Zebra, while Warthog and Bushpig are often encountered in the denser bush. Smaller antelope like Steenbok and Duiker thrive in the grasslands, while the rocky outcrops provide habitat for Klipspringer.
